PDFsy is the free alternative to iLovePDF. It grew out of a simple idea: everyday PDF tools shouldn't force anyone to upload their documents to an unknown server, create an account or pay a monthly fee.

What is PDFsy

PDFsy is a free set of tools for working with PDF files — merge, split, convert, compress, protect, sign and much more — that run entirely inside your browser. There's no server processing your files: all the work happens on your own computer or phone, using technology already built into every modern browser.

Why "the free alternative to iLovePDF"

iLovePDF is a leader in the industry, but its business model relies on a limited free plan, a paid Premium plan to unlock unlimited use, and uploading your files to its servers. PDFsy was designed the other way round: local processing from the very first line of code, no usage limits on any tool, no paid plan at all — free means free, always — and available in 25 languages.

Why this matters

Many of the documents that go through a PDF converter are sensitive — contracts, invoices, ID documents, internal reports. The simplest way to make sure that information isn't seen, stored or used by third parties is to never send it anywhere. Unlike the online version of iLovePDF (which processes files on its own servers), PDFsy always does this in your own browser, in every tool, without exception — that's the principle that guided how each one was built.

How the site sustains itself

PDFsy is run independently. There are no paid accounts or premium plans — the goal is to keep every tool free and accessible.
